As a new client we would appreciate if you could arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time to fill out relevant paperwork.

Please note it is not necessary to have a referral or to be covered by your health fund to have physio treatment.
What happens at my first treatment?
An initial comprehensive assessment involves objective examination of your nervous, muscular and skeletal systems. This “hands on” assessment is performed to establish a working diagnosis of your condition and incorporates movement analysis, range of motion testing, specific joint, muscle and nervous tissue testing and other functional measures. You are more than welcome to ask any questions you may have both during and after the assessment.
Treatment may involve a range of mobilisation, soft tissue and pain relieving techniques, flexibility and strength training, postural advice, electrotherapy, gait re-education and functional rehabilitation. Most conditions will require you to participate in your own rehabilitation by learning techniques to use at home whilst managing your problem such as specific exercise regimes and other preventative and pain relieving measures.
At Leichhardt Sports Physiotherapy we liaise directly with other medical professionals involved in your care and if applicable, we will refer you for alternative treatment if physiotherapy is not the most appropriate option at the time of your assessment.
An initial consultation for one problem will take approximately 30-45 minutes. If you have multiple areas or a complex problem it is best to allow 60 minutes for a thorough assessment to be completed (please let our reception staff know this at the time of booking).
A follow up standard consultation will take approximately 20 – 40 minutes.
